Community Conversations
Dialogue is at the heart of the DDP philosophy and methodology. The Community Conversations programme engages with individuals to encourage active citizenship and community-building. Using the Peter Block methodology of small groups, poignant questions and focusing on gifts, communities are encouraged to envision and create new possibilities.
UNISA – DDP Community Dialogue – Oakford
As part the UNISA Chance-to-Advance programme which they (UNISA) are piloting in various communities around the country, two communities were identified; Wentworth and Oakford. DDP was chosen as a partner to facilitate the Community Dialogues in these communities.
UNISA – DDP Community Dialogue – Wentworth
A collaborative community dialogue workshop between the DDP and UNISA was held in the Wentworth community as part the UNISA Chance-to-Advance programme which they (UNISA) are piloting in various communities around the country.
South Durban Basin (SDB) Social Development Network (SDN) - Community Building Through Dialogue Workshop, 02-04 November 2011, KwaMbonambi.
The SDB – ABM approached the DDP to assist them in finding was to readdress their approach in working with the South Durban Basin Community. There have been many interventions into the communities with very little impact and various approaches have tried to help address some of the social challenges in the community.
Community Dialogue - Nkanini, Eshowe
DDP and KwaZulu Natal Regional Council of Churches (KRCC), our partners in the conversation, having participated in the Promoting Democracy: a multi-media approach project, invited a group of 30 women to a conversation in a local community hall in Nkanini, Eshowe, Zululand.
